A roundup of news and commentary from around the interwebs.

Australian authorities are investigating the suicides of five trans-identifying people who were undergoing the sex change process. I suspect that if they discover the truth—that these surgeries and drugs do not make things better, but worse—it will be suppressed: “Inquest to examine apparent suicides of five trans and gender-diverse Victorians in bid to stop further deaths.”

U.K. Tory MP Liz Truss—who served as prime minister for 44 days—has come out against schools “socially transitioning” children in The Times to the instant ire of trans activists. I’d like to hear this sort of language from the current Tory PM Rishi Sunak, who made a lot of promises with regard to parental rights and even went so far as to state what a woman is in public, but has thus far prioritized his image over robust action, as The European Conservative detailed here. The extent to which trans activists have cowed allegedly conservative politicians is mind-boggling.

Louise Perry’s recent analysis of our post-sexual revolution’s culture of loneliness and how wealth destroys communitarian living is a must-read: “We will all become boring.”

As it turns out, New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs’ decision to take a stand for parental rights has given tacit permission to politicians to…not just simply go along with every agenda item the trans movement demands. From Global News: “No to mixed-gender bathrooms in Quebec schools, says education minister.”

The National Post is finally starting to cover this, as well. This story should stop people in their track: “Canadian surgeons performing mastectomies on trans teens as young as 14.”

Speaking of which, another de-transitioner is taking legal action: “Woman who transitioned to male at 16 during ‘chaotic time’ sues doctors who gave her double mastectomy.” An excerpt:

A Minnesota woman who has decided to de-transition from a transgender male is suing the doctors who performed a double mastectomy on her when she was just 16. Luka Hein, now 21, claims she was going through a tough time emotionally as a teenager, when her parents were getting divorced and when she was being groomed online by a man from another state.

As she struggled with her mental health during this time, she said she found influencers online who extolled the virtues of breast surgery and hormones. Hein then met with staff members at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, who she claims coerced her into undergoing “top” surgery and started her on hormone treatments. She says the surgery and treatments left her in constant pain and may have robbed her of the chance of becoming a mother.

This, from Spiked, highlights the role parents play in this scandal: “The parents who transition their children.
