Your latest cultural update is here—the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I wonder what it will take for people to get fed up with the relentless sexualization of children. Drag Queen Storytime is bad enough, but this report from LifeSiteNews—that shows children laying on top of drag queens—is absolutely stomach-turning. This is something that cannot be ignored. These events are in all likelihood happening at your local library, and if they aren’t yet, be assured that LGBT activists are working to bring them there. I’ve heard from many people who have walked in on such events by accident, having wrongfully assumed that library programming was family-friendly.
The public square is being systematically sexualized, children’s events included.

In Kansas, it is now possible to alter reality—at least, as far as the government is concerned. Your biological sex as listed on your birth certificate can now be dropped down the memory hole, and this of course is celebrated as a big win by the trans activists. From the Hill Times:
Kansas has become one of the final states to allow transgender residents to legally change the gender on their birth certificates, according to The Wichita Eagle.
The state Department of Health and Environment entered a consent judgment in a federal lawsuit to allow the practice.
To make the change, residents would have to provide license or passport reflecting it as well as an affidavit from a doctor or mental health professional, according to the Eagle.
The professional in question would be required to certify that “based on his or her professional opinion the true gender identity of the applicant and that it is expected that this will continue to be the gender with which the applicant will identify in the future,” according to the consent judgment.
What a crazy new reality we live in. Not only does this professional determine if the attendant doctor got the gender wrong at birth (as in, misidentified the genitals?) but now also has to make a prediction as to whether or not the new gender will “continue to be the gender with which the applicant will identify.” Physician and fortune-teller—quite the job.

If you speak the truth in our brave new world, there will be consequences. Consider this recent story out of the United Kingdom—and be sure to watch the video of the teacher explaining to the student why he was not permitted to cite biological fact in an ideological atmosphere. From the Daily Mail:
A teenager suspended from school after insisting there are ‘only two genders’ has revealed he spoke out in protest at the ‘dangerous’ views being forced on to pupils.
The 17-year-old sparked an international debate about transgender rights and free speech after a secretly filmed video clip of him being reprimanded by his teacher went viral.
He was thrown out of class after arguing that only two genders exist – male and female – a position which his teacher claimed was ‘not inclusive’. The schoolboy has now been told he will be suspended for three weeks following the clash during a personal and social education lesson at his secondary school in Aberdeenshire.
Seriously, watch the video. This is what a culture in a death spiral looks like. Only if more students and ordinary men and women stand up and push back will we be able to recover some semblance of sanity.

I want to see more of this—conservative politicians with guts. From LifeSiteNews:
Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy has a message for the state’s Supreme Court: If you’re going to force taxpayers to fund abortions, that money is coming out of your budget.
The Alaska Supreme Court has continually ruled that the state must fund abortions, so Dunleavy slashed the amount it has been spending on the deadly practice from the state judiciary’s budget.
Via a line-item veto, Dunleavy reduced the budget of the state’s courts by $334,700 – the amount of public money spent on elective abortions annually.
“The Legislative and Executive Branch are opposed to state-funded elective abortions; the only branch of government that insists on state-funded elective abortions is the Supreme Court,” the governor’s office explained of its fiscal year 2020 budget. “The annual cost of elective abortions is reflected by this reduction.”
The courts have been acting as de-facto legislatures for decades. It is fantastic to see a governor stand up and tell them precisely where to go.

From the “pull your kids out of public school” file, here’s a story from Creston, British Columbia, reported by the CBC:
An explicit sex guide describing fetishes and drug use was offered to preteens inside a B.C. classroom, prompting outrage from parents and an official apology from the school district.
The sex guide — which features cartoon images accompanied by explicit details of sexual acts and fetishes — was made available to Grade 6 and 7 students at Erickson Elementary School in Creston, B.C., following a regular sex education class taught by a public health nurse and her trainee.
Copies of the 47-page book, which is intended for adults, were taken home by several students on June 20, according to the district. The school has since received complaints from eight different parents.
The school’s principal, superintendent and the public health nurse have since issued apologies to the parents…
The district said several students took the book home. At least eight parents filed complaints.
Liz Anderson says her 12-year-old son Garrett saw the booklet, and then showed it to a student from another class.
“This book was on the side of almost sexual assault, teaching the kids this kind of crap,” she told CBC News. “On my part, I think the health nurse and the principal should have went through that book before it was even allowed in the school.”
Parents voiced their concerns at a meeting held by the school on Tuesday.
Those parents are lucky the school seems remorseful. In Alberta under the recent NDP government, that sort of education was par for the course.
