A rare piece of good news on freedom of speech and freedom of conscience. And a significant one too. That being said, there needs to be accountability. The little snowflakes that filed the complaints should be removed from the program if possible. Either they’re too emotionally fragile to handle the stress of being a doctor, or they’re too biased to be able to provide proper care for all patients regardless of their characteristics (race, sex, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, political views, socioeconomic status, etc). That or they’re just vindictive jerks. Either way, they don’t have the character to be good physicians and the admissions process evidently failed to weed them out. At minimum the faculty members responsible for this witch hunt should be removed, and the university needs to come up with a clear action plan to ensure nothing like this happens ever again. The provincial government should withhold funding until all of these steps have been taken.
