Senate Republicans are looking to pass legislation that would allow mothers to get child support while they are still pregnant, WLBT reports. According to a press release by Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), the Unborn Child Support Act would allow a court to award child support payments while the child is still in the womb and, retroactively, up to the point of conception. The legislation comes nearly a month after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade. Mississippi’s only abortion provider closed as a result of the ruling.
“We write to urge your support for restricting the Supreme Court’s appellate jurisdiction in the areas of abortion, marriage equality, non-procreative intimacy, and contraception,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter to the congressional leaders. “In doing so, we can ensure that, as Congress takes legislative action to codify each of these fundamental rights, a radical, restless, and newly constituted majority on the Court cannot further undermine the protections we would enact.”
Read the whole thing. Unless they regain their Senate majority (or Joe Manchin buckles), none of this is likely to happen.

Rage Against the Machine, in their first concert in years, raged against the Dobbs ruling, calling to “abort the Supreme Court.” Almost every media outlet ignored the fact that they decided to refer to black women as…”Black birth-givers.” I can understand why.

Yet another de-transitioner is coming out with his story. From the New York Post:
“Coming out of my transition was like leaving the Twilight Zone, but the rest of society is still in it.”
After living nearly a decade of his life as a transgender woman named Brianna, Brian Wagoner ultimately came to realize his transition had been a mistake. In February, the 31-year-old made the decision to detransition back to his biological gender and live once again as a man.
“It was basically like medical professionals cheering on a girl with bulimia for puking up her lunch when her ribs are already poking out,” he said of the estrogen treatment he was put on for years. “There’s a lot of money to be made by doctors here. They see the dollar signs, and in the end, money talks.”
