I never watch the Oscars (not once), but it’s impossible to miss the flood of clips and takes that hit social media in the aftermath. As always, it unfunny, insular, and self-absorbed. The most juvenile bit was this moment, where the three female hosts (alleged comediennes) sent a shoutout to the people of Florida, noted they were going to have a “gay night,” and then chanted “gay gay gay gay” as if they were toddlers who’d just discovered a new word. The irony, of course, is that Florida’s law only bans teaching kids in the third grade and younger about sex and sexuality—and nowhere does the law stipulate that you “can’t say gay.” So the Oscars hosts fell for LGBT propaganda, and then ended up sounding like parrots at Pride. Such is the quality of our artistic elites.

My friend Chris Elston, who is Canada’s leading activist against giving puberty blockers to kids, has been consistently posting horrifying stories of young people who embarked on “transition” and are now de-transitioning—with permanent damage. Another reminder that elite billionaires will probably fund the abortion industry in a post-Roe world:
Billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott donated $275 million to women’s healthcare provider Planned Parenthood, the largest gift from a single donor in the organization’s more than 100-year history, Planned Parenthood said on Wednesday. The donation, which is part of Scott’s pledge to give away the majority of her wealth, was made to Planned Parenthood’s national office and 21 regional affiliates.
At First Things, Wesley J. Smith has a worthwhile article titled “The Impossibility Of Christian Transhumanism.” I don’t think many of my readers will disagree, but it is good to stake out the territory.
