Planned Parenthood’s executives are very, very unhappy about a report published by Buzzfeed entitled “Dozens Of Black Employees Said They Faced Racism At Planned Parenthood, An Internal Audit Found, which cited the findings of a leaked report:
Black employees at Planned Parenthood’s national wing feel that they have been held to a different standard than the organization’s white employees and that they are often expected to work more and given less leeway, an internal assessment obtained by BuzzFeed News found.
The assessment, which was commissioned by Planned Parenthood, was presented over a video meeting to Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s (PPFA) employee resource group Network of Black Associates on Wednesday. It was based on interviews conducted over the summer with 64 current and 12 former Black Planned Parenthood employees in all divisions and levels of PPFA. A contracted group called Anti-Oppression Resource and Training Alliance (AORTA) conducted and presented the assessment, which overall found that the organization’s Black employees feel that Planned Parenthood’s treatment of them internally does not line up with its social justice–driven mission.
Black employees told AORTA they regularly experienced acts of racism and anti-Blackness from their white colleagues but found that when they reported problems to human resources, there was “no meaningful consequence or accountability for racial harm,” a slide in the presentation read. The employees said they had been experiencing these issues and bringing them to management’s attention for years, but felt that little had been done to change the problems.
…AORTA’s findings line up with an investigation published by BuzzFeed News in August, which detailed allegations of racism and discrimination at Planned Parenthood’s state affiliate chapters, as well as at NARAL Pro-Choice America, another major reproductive rights group. Twenty-six sources at both organizations told BuzzFeed News at the time that they regularly faced racism at work and were belittled by their bosses, while their non-Black colleagues were not, and felt they often had nowhere to turn for help with these issues. They also said they were unable to move up within the organization, while their white colleagues were promoted.
After attempting to hitch their bloody abortion wagon to every single progressive cause that happens by in order to distract from the work that they actually do (including Black Lives Matter), these revelations are particularly ironic.
On October 13, a three-judge appeals court panel struck down a Texas law which banned dilatation-and-evacuation (D&E) abortions, with Judge James Dennis, writing for the 2-1 majority on the 5th Circuit panel, stating that the law “unduly burdens a woman’s constitutionally-protected right to obtain a previability abortion.” According to the Catholic News Agency:
The abortion rule in question bars Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) abortions, sometimes known as “dismemberment abortion,” which typically take place in the second trimester, using forceps and other instruments to remove the fetus from the womb. Advocates of the law say it is defensible under the 2007 U.S. Supreme Court ruling Gonzales v. Carhart, which says states have a “compelling interest in protecting the integrity and ethics of the medical profession and in protecting the life of the preborn child.”
As always, all paths lead to the Supreme Court.
Back in May, I reviewed Joe Biden’s platform on LGBTQ issues and religious freedom to disabuse the confused regarding Bidens’ alleged “moderate” status. At a town hall last week, he again confirmed that he is on board with the transgender agenda—even for the very young. From The Daily Wire:
Answering a question at the ABC News-hosted townhall on Thursday night, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden stated that an eight-year-old child should be able to decide that they are transgender.
A woman asked Biden, “I’m the proud mom of two girls, 8 and 10. My youngest daughter is transgender. The Trump administration has attacked the rights of transgender people, banning them from military service, weakening non-discrimination protections, and even removing the word transgender from some government websites. How will you, as president, reverse this dangerous and discriminatory agenda and ensure that the lives and rights of LGBTQ people are protected under U.S. law?”
After telling a story about his father, Biden answered, “The idea that an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides, ‘I decided I want to be transgender. That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier.’ There should be zero discrimination.”
“Relatable” host Allie Beth Stuckey: “Joe Biden tonight said 7 and 8 year olds should be given the authority to be ‘transgender,’ despite data proving that the vast majority of kids with gender confusion outgrow it by puberty. We’re talking life-altering, body-harming decisions made by 1st graders.”
Political commentator Liz Wheeler noted, “Here’s the science: 90% of kids who suffer from gender dysphoria outgrow it by the time they’re adults if they do NOT transition. Puberty blocking drugs are NOT FDA approved for children or for gender dysphoria. Yet, Joe Biden wants to let 8yos decide if they’re transgender.”
But because this is 2020, nobody on the Left can question this new dogma. It really is staggering to consider how many children will be destroyed before we are forced to recognize the dangers of this social experiment we have launched.
