For those of you who want to wrap your heads around what’s going on in Communist China, The Upheaval Substack is essential reading. The articles are long but well worth the time.

In our era of context-free information and conspiracy, the plague of fake news afflicts both Right and Left. Consider this snippet from the MIT Technology Review:

In the run-up to the 2020 election, the most highly contested in US history, Facebook’s most popular pages for Christian and Black American content were being run by Eastern European troll farms. These pages were part of a larger network that collectively reached nearly half of all Americans, according to an internal company report, and achieved that reach not through user choice but primarily as a result of Facebook’s own platform design and engagement-hungry algorithm.

By way of example, the largest Christian American page on Facebook (twenty times larger than the next largest) reached 75 million Americans monthly—and almost none of those reached had even chosen to follow the page. That page was run by a troll farm.

Prominent pro-life UK Member of Parliament Sir David Amess was tragically murdered on October 15 by an assailant with a knife in an attack at a church in Leigh-on-Sea. Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed his grief and noted Amess’ “outstanding record of passing laws to help the most vulnerable.” It is not yet known why he was targeted, but a 25-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of the murder.

Pornhub is beginning to settle lawsuits with women suing them for facilitating and profiting from sexual exploitation. From NBC:

A settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed on behalf of 50 women who sued Pornhub’s parent company for hosting videos produced by former San Diego-based website GirlsDoPorn.com, the owners and operators of which were charged by federal prosecutors with sex trafficking.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed in a brief court document filed Friday indicating a stipulated dismissal of the case brought by the plaintiffs, identified as Jane Does 1 through 50.

I’m hoping for a tsunami of these lawsuits that consistently exposes these smut merchants for the vultures they are. Read the whole thing.

The so-called “trans rights” movement is rife with misogyny, with biological men dressing as women protesting feminist conferences hoisting signs referring to women as “c**ts.” Read this chilling report by Julie Bindel.

In First Things, Scott Yenor has a powerful piece on “The Sexual Counter-Revolution.” It’s long, but worth your time.

At The European Conservative, I have an essay on “The Slow-Motion Genocide of Nigeria’s Christians.” I interviewed quite a few people for this one. It is an awful story.
