A roundup of news and commentary from around the interwebs.
Ray Pennings, a Canadian political thinker, has some great reflections on being a Christian in a post-Christian polity over at The Hub. I highly recommend it.
Andrew T. Walker has a helpful explainer on why Christians shouldn’t offer their pronouns.
Tim Challies announced on his blog that after sending two of his children to public school, his youngest has decided she wants to be homeschooled. Challies interviewed her about her decision, and I was struck by this question and answer:
Did you find it hard to be a Christian in public school and did you feel pressure to conform to a non-Christian standard?
Yes, to both questions. Being a Christian was always a challenge for me, but it wasn’t really until high school that it became unmanageable for me. I think the public school system in Canada has taken a very sharp turn in the past few years. Suddenly half my day became about the LGBTQ+ community, about racism and various similar topics. While I was willing to listen and learn different opinions and views related to these topics, I think where things have changed are in my ability to have an opinion different from everyone else. I’m not really allowed to be a Christian anymore. I was feeling a constant pressure to conform to these beliefs and lifestyles, not only by my friends but by my teachers as well. I was expected to write essays on topics that I didn’t believe in, but wasn’t allowed to challenge. It exhausted and frustrated me constantly.
Read the whole thing. It’s a good glimpse into Canadian public schools right now.
In case you need another reason to hate Walmart, here it is: “Walmart expands abortion policy after Roe v. Wade case.” The retail giant will be both funding abortions and travel for abortions. That way, you can be back to work stocking the shelves in no time.
If you have kids, be aware that nearly any technological device can be used to watch porn. I know kids who got hooked watching it on their Xbox. And as Defend Young Minds recently pointed out, porn can even be accessed on the Apple watch. Act accordingly.
A reminder that this is what “gender-affirming care” looks like:
I did not need cross-sex hormones.
I did not need to amputate my healthy breasts.
I needed psychological help for my mental health struggles. From the professionals in charge of my care. Instead, I was affirmed, and I transitioned.
A horrific decision I cannot undo.

It’s a good thing that pro-lifers recognize how important the midterm elections are—because Planned Parenthood does. They’re poised to spend $50 million on key races.
I had an in-depth analysis of what happened in Kansas earlier this month, but more news about what went down continues to be released. Most recently—it turns out director Steven Spielberg and other celebrities poured money into the abortion side of the referendum.
