    On the one hand, the New and Improved 100% Pro-Abortion Marilyn Gladu raises questions of what the point of voting is. Liberal majority is not what Canada voted for and certainly not what her riding voted for – they elected a pro-life Conservative MP. Not that backbench pro-life MPs have made any appreciable difference over the 38 years abortion has been legal on demand in Canada. Liberals will rightly point out that MPs crossed the floor to join the Conservatives during the Harper years, but that doesn’t make it right. And none of those floor crossings were decisive enough to flip a minority into a majority or otherwise tip the balance of power.

    On the other hand, the fact that so many MPs are jumping ship goes to show Poilievre’s lack of appeal (as if losing his own riding wasn’t enough). Who knows whether they dare replace him, and who they would choose.
