“Conversion therapy ban” passes in House of Commons with unanimous Conservative support

The events that transpired yesterday in Parliament are deeply, deeply disturbing. For those of you who want some background on Trudeau’s so-called conversion therapy ban, give this article a read or check out these two interviews I’ve done with people would would be deeply impacted by this legislation. This is a bill that would outlaw conversations about identity and sexuality between pastors and parishioners; between counselors and patients; it could even jail parents for opposing sex changes for their children. And yet, despite the many Conservative MPs who opposed the bill prior to the election, it swept through Parliament unopposed yesterday. I realize that there are likely political shenanigans by CPC leader Erin O’Toole at play here; I plan to write on this more extensively once I speak with more people and get a better understanding of what happened.
